Friends, or should I say family

This year has been absolutely surprising in every way! God has placed beautiful friends in my life to encourage me and lift me up in prayer. They are the opposite of what I would have ever expected, but exactly what I needed. There is something wonderful and unique about everyone that I hang out with. Just being around them for brief moments allows me to see how much God loves them & me.

Grace (aka Courtney Curtis)- she is a great friend of mine. Before we really knew each other, there was a block between us. Somehow, God broke the block. He gave us a love for one another that I will never be able to explain. This love is one that gives us freedom to embrace one another for hours, to greet each other with a holy kiss, to climb in bed and cuddle up next to each other, to get ready for the day and talk about all things together. Because of this freedom, I am able to be 100 percent myself around her. She has seen me in my happiest lala land state :) She has also seen me in my frightening sad state (fists to the ground, kicking and screaming ;) or something like that)... and she loves me the same! Through our friendship, I have learned so much. It is possible to be yourself around girls and still grow and learn from one another every day, no one is perfect, and where there is true love there is not division. My sister, Courtney is a friend that I will cherish until the day that I die (and even after that). I am grateful to have her around & look forward to all of the moments we will share together in the future. God has so blessed me with Courtney! :) I LOVE YOU GRACE!

Troha (or Taylor)- I have known many people in my life and have realized that Taylor Troha is one that I will always love and hold close to my heart, no matter how far away we are. Taylor and I have had the opportunity to take several classes together these past two years. It made it easier on both of us to have someone hold us accountable in doing work and studying for classes. Troha is kind-hearted and such a giver. I have learned from her that giving is important, so important. Through her gift of giving, I have received so much in the natural and supernatural. There have been times when she would bring something to me that I had just prayed for and it blessed me so much and reminded me that God is always in control. Several times, she has been the one to hug me and pour God's love out on me through a physical touch. I love Taylor Troha. She does not let anything hold her back from doing what she wants to do. She is a special friend and a sister. We are headed to Australia together soon and I am so looking forward to being able to have time away with her apart from all of our school buddies! :) It will be nice! Just Taylor & I. Oh, how God knows just what we need in friends :) I will always cherish the memories we have together, Trohizzle. You are my dear sister. So close to my heart! You know everything about me, yet you love me the same! Blessings, grace and peace to you dear one! [even though we met before this year, I wanted to put her here because she is my faithful sister & I appreciate her love so very much]

Brittany- BACON CHACOS RAIN! BRITTANY BACON CHACOS RAIN! You know, I always knew that I loved bacon chacos and rain... but it was not until this year that I realized how much I love me some Brittany Gardner :) I really am not sure how it all started between the two of us, but I am sure glad it did. Brittany is a friend of mine that is always willing to receive from me. Every time that I come near, she knows that we are about to discuss the goodness of God and she embraces the opportunity to grow. Even though some days she would rather not hear what I have to say, she is always eager to hear God. He speaks to her and through her when we get together. It blesses me so much. Having her in my life has opened my eyes so much. I am grateful to have her around to love and to be loved by her-her love is so special. Just recently, I was laying in bed asking God why I never heard Him say I LOVE YOU & YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL in the mornings anymore. Then, a few hours later... I woke up to Brittany in my bed. She came to tell me that God loves me and says that I am beautiful and that even though I do not hear Him, He is still speaking to me. Hearing all of this blew my mind, because she had no idea that I had asked God that. All to say, God uses her in mighty ways to open my eyes and bless me. I am so encouraged to have her in my life. These college days are great because I have BRITTANY BACON CHACOS AND RAIN!! Woohooo! :)

Brittany Hilbun- my sweet love. AKA LITTLE CHYNNA! :) Ever now and then, you will meet someone that you never expected to be friends with and just fall in love at first (or second) conversation :) This little darling has become a precious friend of mine. In the beginning, I had planned not to know her too well. She was a sweet, silly, wild child :) Or so I thought. After a conversation with her about the LORD, I knew that she was going to always be a love of mine. She is my little sister who is always welcome to sleep in my bed (no matter what time she comes) and I can always cuddle up in her bed too! She is silly and pulls out the funny side of me! When I am with her, laughter always comes out and leaks over onto all that we do! She makes life fun and funny; she enjoys my humor! I enjoy her humor! Her love for me is precious and she is a great example of a servant. If I ever need a friend or anything at all, she is willing to give up what she wants and take care of me. Her heart for Christ and missions blesses me always :) Being with her reminds me that my heart is in different countries serving the lost and broken! God uses her in mighty ways to keep me dreaming, yet focused! Bless you mini me :)

Christin Curtis (or CHRIST IN)- you know, meeting Christin was so interesting. I had literally just been praying that I could meet her, and I had no idea what she looked like. As I turned the corner, there she was! I had no idea for sure... but I started saying, "You are Christin Curtis, child of God"... God had shown me who she was! and sure enough, it was her! After that day, we talked and loved each other. That day turned into every day her coming into my room and praying with me and listening to me preach the Word of God. She was the first friend to really receive me and what I had to say since I started walking with the LORD. I do not doubt that God sent her to UM for me. Although she had to leave, I still think about her and our love for one another. No matter what she goes through, I want to be close to her! I want her to cry on my shoulder and ask me for prayer. I want to fight for her, no matter what the cost is! I want to be the best friend ever for her! All of the blessings that she has brought to me, makes me want to be nothing but a blessing to her! I LOVE HER! Christin Curtis, I love you and will always be here for you! You are God's. Stay under His wing! Psalm 91.

Fenton Hammerly- one of the greatest friends that I have made this year (ever really). I have said it many times and will say it again, he is an answer to a prayer that I never prayed. In my heart, I know that God knew what I needed in a friend when he placed Fenton in my life. His love for the LORD is extremely encouraging and blesses me beyond what I could ever explain. He is always himself, which makes it possible for me to be myself around him. At first it was hard to understand him, but now he makes perfect sense. Fenton is funnier than any person I have ever met. His sense of humor is ridiculous and can cause just about anyone to smile and laugh. The love that he has for his family blesses me so much & keeps me reminded that one day I will understand family on a personal level. It is my prayer that I always know Fenton Hammerly.

Tyler Anderson- we go back & now, we are moving forward :) I have known Tyler since the first week of my freshman year. He was always super funny & I was always aware that we had the same story. It wasn't until this year that the LORD placed in my heart a love for Tyler. He was radically saved & delivered over Spring Break. Since his salvation, he has been more than a blessing to all that surround him. He has led many to Christ, served as the leader of the Awakening services on campus, and spread the gospel in a personal way to all that he has surrounded himself with. Everything that we have gone through in our friendship has been worth it to me. He has blessed me so much & is a constant reason for me to praise the LORD! I know that the LORD loves him so much, because of the praise received because of who he is! (He is who he is by the grace of God) Hallelujah! If you have yet to meet Tyler, meet him! He will bless you (through the LORD), guaranteed. Oh & one day, he is going to be a great leader! So meet him while he is still around :)
